Unlike his other French recordings, this album is written in standard French rather than the traditional Cajun French. He co-wrote most of the songs on this disc, including Si Longtemps Separe’, which was chosen as the theme song for the 1999 international reunion, “Congres Mondial Acadian”. Waylon is credited with having played all the instruments except the lead guitar and piano. He also produced, recorded, mixed, and sang all vocals and harmony vocals. This album is truly a proud accomplishment of his, and is offered as a celebration of his Cajun heritage. It is exciting and moving even for those who do not understand the French lyrics.

Years of playing to filled-to-capacity crowds in the music clubs in and around New Orleans’ famed French Quarter has given Waylon the opportunity to perform his enticing, crowd-pleasing style of really great Louisiana music for thousands. Waylon has developed a sound that not only reflects a more contemporary form of Cajun music, but one that appeals to a broader audience of music lovers. This release showcases Waylon’s depth and versatility as he performs his unique brand of progressive Cajun music, seasoned with elements of Zydeco, Rock, Country and a sprinkle of the traditional in just the right places. You’ve heard it before, but it really is true – this CD has something for everyone. Blues guitarist Tab Benoit and harmonica virtuoso Jumpin’ Johnny Sansone join Waylon on the toe-tapping cut “Be For Sure”, written by Sansone. If that combination doesn’t make you get up and dance, nothing will! Waylon even adds a Spanish selection to his usual combination of French and English vocal performances. Always striving to give his listeners a quality product, Waylon’s music is just as appealing in his recordings as it is in his live performances. This disc is sure to become a permanent fixture in your most frequently played music.

He has put together a collection of songs sure to bring rhythm to your feet. Waylon has gotten together with John Autin from Rabadash Records to produce on of his greatest CD’s in his career thus far. Waylon, along with his wonderful band, recorded his latest CD with wonderful songs from some of the biggest songwriters in the business. Thom Shepard has written songs like, Red Neck Yacht Club and Riding With Private Malone. He has two songs on Waylon’s new CD. Sometimes A Fiddle, Sometimes A Violin. It tells the story of an actual violin instrument. And a tearjerker, Riding On These Roses. Gordon Bradberry, a born and bred on the bayou Cajun himself, has 4 songs on Waylon’s new CD. One of which is sure to be a South Louisiana belly rubbing classic titled Big Blue Tears. Anders Osborne wrote the song Louisiana Rain for all the refugees of Louisiana that fled during the Hurricane Katrina. Rhonda Lohmeyer from the all female group Evangeline, wrote Chenier Tigre. Pershing & Ken Wells from Houma, LA wrote the Cajun title cut Cher Bebe’. This is just to name a few of the great songs and song writers who has had all there songs on this album stamped by Waylon’s trademark Rockin’ Fiddler sound. Waylon wrote one song on his new CD, Just to have my girl. Waylon says he may never write another song as long as there are great songwriters around like these. Just kidding!
